Pupil Achievement at Leighton Middle School
Leighton Middle School is a 9-13 school, providing education for pupils between Year 5 and Year 8. Pupils achieve high standards and make good progress in the four years that they attend Leighton Middle School. Many pupils leave Leighton Middle School achieving levels which are above national expectations for Year 9 pupils.

Year 7 Catch Up Funding
Year 7 Catch Up Funding is allocated by the Government to support those pupils who did not reach the expected level in Year 6 Reading and/or Mathematics.
Each year the school uses the funding to provide small group support for the identified pupils.
2019/20 Funding
Funding has not been allocated for 2019/20 but a similar amount is expected to 2018/19.
There are 36 pupils currently on role who did not reach the expected standard in Reading. 16 of these pupils have SEN, 17 are PUPIL PREMIUM and 11 have both SEN and are PUPIL PREMIUM.
There are 23 pupils currently on role who did not reach the expected standard in Maths. 13 of these pupils have SEN, 13 are PUPIL PREMIUM and 8 have both SEN and are PUPIL PREMIUM.
2019/20 Planned Spend
Maths and English small group weekly interventions.
Small group and one to one mentoring.
Daily intervention for a small group in English and Maths with early work to be completed, using Year 8 mentors to support.
Use of Key Stage 3 Mind the Gap data sheets to be produced to support raising attainment
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
