Open Morning
Choosing the right school where your child will be happy and safe and there will be a wealth of learning opportunities is an exciting albeit possibly stressful period for any family. All the staff at Leighton Middle are committed to your child’s educational journey and going ‘above and beyond’ is part of our culture. We pride ourselves on being a ‘happy school’ where everyone is valued and encouraged to strive for ‘personal excellence’.
At Leighton Middle school, we strongly feel that families being able to visit our school is not only crucial to get ‘a feel of our school’ but also an insight into the wonderful opportunities on offer from the plethora of daily clubs; high levels of pastoral care and specialist rooms and staff. For example, your child will have Science in a laboratory and use Bunsen burners, partaking in experiments from the word go.
We are committed to enabling face to face visits within an environment that is positive, supportive and allows, where possible, families to talk to our staff and pupils. To this end, we will be offering our tours on a booking system which, we hope will space out visits, so your experience is enjoyable and informative.
We have chosen a Saturday for our Open Event so you have time to see us in action. Our school will be open from 9:00am – midday on Saturday 15th November 2025. We request that tickets are booked so numbers are spaced throughout the morning to ensure that everyone’s visit is enjoyable and informative.

Open Day - Saturday 15th November 2025 – 9:00am – midday
We look forward to welcoming and meeting prospective parents and Year 4 children and showing you the wonders of our school.
Parents are requested to book for one of the following options:
- Head Teacher talk followed by a tour (9:15am, 9:50am and 10:35am)
- Tour only of the school (9:00am, 9:30am, 10:00am and 10.30am)

Parents are requested to arrive at Bridge Street up to 15 minutes prior to their booking time. To allow swift entry, please have your ticket ready, this is attached to your email confirmation which you can download on your phone or print out.
The aim to the Head Teacher’s talk is to introduce you to life at Leighton Middle and will be followed by tours.
All tours can be self-guided and/or with an audio guide. We aim to have some of our older students available to guide where possible. There will be staff and pupils present representing all of the subjects taught at Leighton Middle and we encourage the Year 4’s to get involved with some of the practical learning experiences.
Audio Guide Option
We have created an audio guide which is optional for the Open Day tour. There will be a link available on the day to listen to the tour. Families will each need to bring their own device AND earphones to be able to listen to the audio guide.
Tours during the School Day – Tuesday 25th November to Friday 28th November
If you have been unable to attend our Open event on Saturday 15th November or wish to tour the school during the school day, please book above.
There will be a tour at 9am, on Tuesday 25th, Wednesday 26th, Thursday 27th and Friday 28th November 2025. Booking will be required and can be made from noon on Monday 17th November 2025.
The number of tours available each day to enhance your visit, ideally with less people. Tours will be at 9:00am, 10:00am on Tuesday 26th, Wednesday 27th, Thursday 28th and Friday 29th November 2025. Booking will be required.
Please arrive at the Bridge Street gates with your booking code no more than 5 minutes prior to your tour.
You will be welcomed to the school by our staff before being taken on a short tour of our school, visiting a variety of classrooms and subjects.
